Currently, when you add a new carve to the end of your current queue, that gem becomes the one in progress. Should it not just return to the gem at the top of the queue !!

It doesn't do that for me, my queue always continues working from the top down when I add new gems to it. Are you sure you're not hitting the "start carving" button instead of the "add to queue" button? It's probably pretty easy to do by accident since the buttons are right next to each other.

Honestly I don't think the "start carving" button even needs to be there, since there is a button for that on each item in the queue already.
