I have a level 50 wisdom gem on my helmet that says it gives +6% experience.
With the helmet on I get 4,628 experience from the mob I'm currently working on. Without the helmet on I get 4,548 from the same mob.
4,628 - 4,548 = 80 / 4,628 = 0.01728
So it looks like the gem is only giving me 1.73% bonus experience?
Is the bonus incorrect, or does the gem bonus only get factored in on the base exp and is unaffected by battle experience boost from the crystal shop?
EDIT: If the bonus the gem gives is 6%, then that 80 bonus exp would be 6% of 1,333.33 experience... so I guess that would be my experience per mob before factoring in other experience bonuses?

I asked about this earlier, and I was told the xp bonus of the gem is additive, so it combines with your Crystal bonus. So if you're at, say 50% battle xp bonus, the gem will kick that up to 56%... so it's 6% of the BASE xp, not whatever you get without the gem... Future said that's how the house xp bonus item works, so I'd assume the gems do the same.

Aye, just to confirm it is additive- generally seems to be the theme with % bonus increases
