Doesn't really matter to game play, but when you have an item with tiers, like wooden floor>carpeted floor, when you go to upgrade the carpeted floor, if you don't have the wood, it tells you "You don't have enough wood to upgrade wooden floor". So it is giving the name of the base item instead of the tier it is actually upgraded to. As I said, doesn't change game play, just something to make everything match a little better.

Isn't that correct though? It's saying that you cannot upgrade the wooden floor, not that you cannot upgrade TO the wooden floor.

Seems correct to me, unless it displays tier 1 when upgrading from tier 2 to tier 3, but I don't think that's the case.

It isn't when changing tiers, just when upgrading level of the next tier. I hope I explained that properly.
I have carpeted floors (Tier 2) already, not just wooden floors (Tier 1). When I try to upgrade the level of my carpeted floors, the announcement says I don't have enough wood to upgrade my wooden floors.
Hope that makes more sense.
